It's (Almost) Here!

I've heard it said that a lot of people have a book in them, but that is takes a special kind of pathologically tenacious weirdo to get that book out on the page. That's not even accounting for whipping it into shape through countless drafts, tricking someone--I mean finding someone--to publish it, and then all the promo song and dance to help make it a success. It ain't for the faint of heart.

I really started struggling with the 'to be or not to be' motherhood minefield (as Jane Doucet aptly called it) in 2017. My crisis came to a head in 2020, and I began writing my book in earnest in 2022. Through edits, querying, and finalizing the title and cover (I'm eternally grateful to my publisher Nimbus for their amazing ideas and execution on that front), my book is now available for preorder! It's been a wild ride so far.

I'm reveling in this moment and so looking forward to what comes next (Arcs! Launches! Readings!), and fearing some elements (Family and friend reactions! Negative reviews! Potential for catastrophic failure!). But come what may, we've come a long way, book. Thanks for helping me process a difficult time in my life and thanks for making my dreams of being an author come true <3
